Guardforce Fiji was honoured to attend the International Security Day commemoration held last Friday, hosted by the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs.

The event recognized the significant contribution of Fiji’s private security industry in protecting businesses, critical infrastructure, public facilities, and communities nationwide.

Chief Guest Honourable Pio Tikoduadua, Minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs, reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening the private security sector through the ongoing review of the Security Industry Act.

Having remained largely unchanged for more than 16 years, the legislation is currently undergoing a comprehensive review to modernise the regulatory framework, strengthen licensing and enforcement mechanisms, streamline regulatory processes, and raise professional standards to meet the demands of Fiji’s evolving security landscape.
